Dr. Guzmán uses quantitative methods including classical test theory and Rasch methods to explore emergent areas of occupational therapy practice such as instrument development and validation, community-based learning, and telehealth practice. She has served as a research mentor for several student projects and has published research in pediatric movement disorders, learning disabilities and resilience and continues her work on future research and manuscripts. Julia is a member of review boards for several occupational therapy journals. She has presented multiple research projects at the State, national and international levels.
