Jason Burns, Ph.D.

Dr. Burns is an assistant professor in SHU’s K-12 program in Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy. His research uses quantitative, survey, and mixed methods to study school accountability, school turnaround, and decision-making in education. Dr. Burns’ current research focuses on the effectiveness of school turnaround policies, how leaders implement turnaround policies, and the factors that contribute to the success or failure of turnaround policies. Dr. Burns' work is published in academic journals as well as public-facing reports, and he has also been invited to brief state-level stakeholders on school turnaround efforts.
