School of Medicine Curriculum

The School of Medicine follows an innovative curriculum which allows students to complete their M.D. degree in just three years. This saves valuable time and money. The curriculum is structured in four phases as follows:

Phase I: Science, skills and reasoning courses 16 months (starting in July)

  • Molecular & Cellular Principles (8 weeks)
  • Structural Principles (8 weeks)
  • Immunity, Infection & Cancer (11 weeks)
  • The Developing Human (8 weeks)
  • Homeostasis & Allostasis (11 weeks)
  • Nutrition, Metabolism & Digestion (8 weeks)
  • Neuroscience & Behavior (8 weeks)

Phase II:

  • Step I - Clerkships (13 months)
  • Step II - Advanced Clinical Rotations (7 months)

Phase III:

  • Begin residency
  • or choose from intensive research, global or community health immersion clinical or dual degree program
