Break Housing Information
The residence halls are closed at the following times of the year: Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break and Summer.
Students may apply for break housing (via an application on eRezLife) if one of the following reasons apply to them:
- Geographically located more than four hours from campus;
- University-related work, internship, or academic commitment;
- Active, in-season athlete; or
- Other exception listed in individual application or approved by Housing & Residence Life.
Typically, break housing only occurs in Boland Hall, Ora Manor, Turrell Manor, and Xavier Hall (note: Housing & Residence Life reserves the right to change the open halls, if necessary). Students who do not live in one of the open halls will need to relocate for break housing.
Students are not permitted to have guests while staying in break housing. Typical dining hours and meal options are not in effect during break housing periods, so Business Affairs will release information regarding dining near the break.
Please note that staying in Winter Break Housing or Summer Housing incur charges to a student’s billing account.
