2022-2023 Housing Selection Process

Housing and Residence Life (HRL) is excited to announce the important upcoming dates for the 2022-2023 housing selection process! The Fall 2022 housing selection process is exclusive to current Seton Hall students and allows the opportunity for current students to select their housing assignments for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Step 1: Register for Classes

Class registration for Fall 2022 takes place from April 6th-26th. Students must register for classes first, to apply for housing.

Step 2: Apply for Housing

Students who have registered for classes may complete the housing application via eRezLife starting on April 27th.

Step 3: Pay the Housing Deposit

Students must submit a $325 non-refundable housing deposit by May 11th

Step 4: Housing Selection

This year we are excited to announce two ways that students can select housing! They may opt to renew their current housing assignment in select halls, or enter the housing lottery:

Suite/Apartment Renewal

Residents who currently live in Cabrini, Serra, Turrell, Ora, or Xavier Hall may indicate on their housing application that they would like to remain in their current suite or apartment for the 2022-2023 school year. All students who wish to renew their current room be registered for Fall 2022 classes, must submit their housing application and pay their deposit by May 11th to apply to renew their space. The section below shows how many current residents in the space must apply to renew to reserve the space.

  • 3-person space - at least 2 residents must apply to renew.
  • 4-person space - at least 3 residents must apply to renew.
  • 5-person space - at least 3 residents must apply to renew.
  • 6-person space - at least 4 residents must apply to renew.
  • 7-person space - at least 5 residents must apply to renew.

If most of the group, as indicated above, does not apply to renew the space, those who did apply will be entered in the lottery instead.

Housing Lottery

Students in the Housing Lottery will be able to select their preferred housing at a date and time that is based on their lottery number. Students with lower lottery numbers will get to select their housing sooner.

Only students who are registered for fall 2022 classes, complete the housing application, and pay the housing deposit by May 11th will receive a lottery number.

Step 5: Housing Assignment

After the housing lottery is complete students will be able to view their 2022-2023 housing in their eRezLife profile. Our selection process will be on a first come first serve basis. Students who do not receive housing through the lottery or the suite/apartment renewal program may be placed on our Pending Housing List they are registered for Fall 2022 classes, complete a housing application and pay the deposit.
