Founding Dean Deirdre Yates and the faculty of the College of Communication and the Arts will gather in the Jubilee Hall Auditorium from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on May 16 to celebrate 37 graduates along with their guests at the College's fourth annual Graduate Commencement and Hooding Ceremony.
The College looks forward to commemorating the growth and achievements of this year's degree candidates from Graduate Studies' Museum Professions, Public Relations and Strategic Communication programs who are to be hooded and awarded their diplomas by program faculty as friends, family and colleagues witness the culmination of their graduate experience.
Sean Quinn '14, a third generation Pirate and M.A. in Public Relations degree candidate, shared his excitement for the upcoming Graduate Commencement which marks his second degree earned from the University. "Being part of Seton Hall's graduate Public Relations program was a truly magical experience, and I am so grateful for the education and opportunities it has afforded me," said Sean. "I am just thrilled to graduate in front of my family. Both my grandfather and mother graduated from Seton Hall, and it is an honor to continue their legacy."
Every year, the College celebrates the event by hosting a reception for the candidates prior to the ceremony proper. During the ceremony, select faculty and student speakers will be invited to commemorate the candidates' triumphs and journeys as graduate students. The College also recognizes students who exhibit outstanding performance through special awards such as the Experiential Learning Award. Following the Ceremony, the new graduates will partake in the long-standing tradition of stepping on the University's seal after they earn their degree.
