The Gerald P. Buccino '63 Center for Leadership Development within the Stillman School of Business was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Investors Foundation.

One of six Centers in the University's Buccino Leadership Institute, and the nation's No. 1 leadership program of its kind five years in a row, the Business Leadership Center will use the grant to help further its mission of "developing extraordinary leaders." Specifically, the grant will enable the Center to partially subsidize the cost of the study abroad experiences for current students.

"Each year our students have the opportunity to travel abroad to learn how businesses operate in other countries. This immersive experience is one of the Program's highlights in developing the Leadership students' global mindset and perspective," said Professor Michael Reuter, director of the Gerald P. Buccino '63 Center for Leadership Development. "This generous grant from the Investors Foundation will allow more students to take advantage of this great learning opportunity."

Over the course of the last several years students participating in the study abroad trips have visited business capitals in Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Greece and Italy – meeting with foreign business professionals and increasing their knowledge of global business as well as enjoying cultural events and activities.

In addition to study abroad opportunities, and throughout their four-year journey at the University, the Business Leadership students are afforded professional and personal development through executive coaching and mentoring; experiential learning with business leaders and executives; and critical-skills development through extra coursework.

There are also internship opportunities, with 8 in 10 business leadership students securing an internship during their college career.

Said Director Reuter, "We are deeply honored and grateful for the generosity of the people at Investors Bank and their continuing support of our Center. The best is yet to come."
