Calling College Entrepreneurs! “Ask a Lawyer” Virtual Workshop on Startup Business Legal Issues on March 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Picture of two business individuals in interview. One of the trickiest areas for aspiring entrepreneurs is legal issues. "From selecting the right legal structure to properly protecting a business name, entrepreneurs need to make smart decisions so that their startup is legally sound," says Susan Scherreik, Director, the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. "New entrepreneurs often don't think carefully about these issues, which can eventually lead to problems," she added.

The good news: Seton Hall University's aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to attend the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s "Ask A Lawyer Virtual Workshop" on Wednesday March 16 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The workshop will be led by Marco A. Gonzalez Jr., an attorney at Santomassimo Davis LLP, the legal sponsor of the university's annual Pirates Pitch Startup Competition. Gonzalez is also the outside counsel for the statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey.

The workshop will cover topics such as intellectual property issues, copyrights, patents, partnership agreements and other legal matters involved in starting a business. Participants will have a chance to ask questions about startup business legal issues, too.

The workshop, which will be held on Microsoft Teams, is free. Please register in advance here.
