Secondary Education
The Secondary Education Program at Seton Hall University is a unique and dynamic education preparation program that prepares educators who practice culturally relevant teaching and are committed to social justice. The Secondary Education Program offers an academically rigorous curriculum that prepares future educators to serve students of all backgrounds, with a particular focus on urban communities, through community and school partnerships. Our focus on justice is deeply intertwined with Seton Hall’s mission to prepare students to be leaders in their professional and community lives in a global society. In content-rich, research-based, and technology-infused courses, secondary education candidates engage in collaborative learning as they learn to translate theory to practice.
The Program
The B.S.E. in Secondary Education is a four-year undergraduate program with a minimum of 120 credits required for graduation. Candidates earn at minimum one instructional certificate (additional opportunities exist), and participate in extensive clinical experiences from sophomore to senior year.

Hip Hop in Education
Professor Edmund Adjapong, Ph.D., pushes and transcends traditional teaching and learning by identifying strategies and perspectives that align with different elements of Hip Hop in his K-12 classes.

The faculty in the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media are expert researchers and practitioners in teacher and leader preparation as well as professional psychology and family therapy.
